Why and how to regularly post an article to Locable
Hello fellow NAMPA Members, William Mitchum with The Best Times TN here.
In this article I wish to encourage all of our members to participate with our association website on an ongoing schedule. I have made a video at the end of this article to showcase how to quickly post an article to your free Locable account.
To remind everyone, our association website is hosted by Locable and every member has its own profile page found in the publications webpage. If you have not visited the association website recently, it is at MaturePublishers.com. You can manage your publication’s profile by using your free Locable account. You can update some basic information and post articles or “blogs,” as they are called on Locable. Blogs will appear both on your publication’s profile and on the Articles & News page of the NAMPA website.
With that brief context out of the way, the reason for this video is to encourage every member publication to post an article from each issue, be that monthly, bi-monthly or otherwise.
We want to see what great content or ideas you have come up with. Posting these articles helps your publication and the association website. Your article will rank higher on search engines, and the association website will have more activity which will also help it be more visible online. We want to make it easy for potential fundraiser prospects, future NAMPA members, and seniors and families that might need to find resources in your neck of the woods. I think it is wonderful to be able to tell readers that might be relocating soon, to visit the association website and look for publications and resource directories around their new homes.
Additional benefits to consider,
- Drive traffic to your own website by adding a line at the inside or at the end of these articles directing readers back to your website.
- Builds content to your publication profile page on the association website. You never know if a past article may capture someone’s interest in your content.
- Sharing great ideas with the association immediately.
If you have difficulty determining what article to post, we all would love to see outstanding articles that you might be particularly proud of, articles of significant importance beyond your region that may apply to seniors nationwide, or you can post articles about successful events you have participated in or held recently.
If you have not activated your free Locable account as a NAMPA member, please contact Gary or myself.
With all of that out of the way, please watch the video as I walk through how to make a blog post.
