Deadline for submissions of the 2024 Annual Awards Competition approaches

The deadline to submit entries is only 20 days away on August 9th, so please submit your entries as soon as possible.

 We invite your publication to submit entries to be judged for the 2024 NAMPA Awards Competition. Entries must be received on or before the deadline of August 9, 2024 to:

Since 1999, the NAMPA awards competition has been judged by the School of Journalism from the University of Missouri.  However, this school informed us and all other print associations that they will no longer judge publications for contests or awards.  Therefore, the NAMPA Board and I strived to locate an organization or individuals who could do the judging for this year's NAMPA awards competition.  After careful consideration, the NAMPA Board of Directors selected Michelle Fields, an independent consultant who was a previous publisher and editor of a senior publication, and who has judged  print publications in various categories for other contest and award organizations. She is very familiar with our NAMPA member publications as well as the NAMPA awards competition rules and procedures.

 Here is a pdf of the 2024 Awards Entry Rules and Information. 

Within the rules and information document, there are several major changes.

1. Publications may submit as many entries as they desire for a category.
2. Only category from the previous awards competition was eliminated relating to category #28 - Syndicated articles.
3. Publications may print articles from their online issues to submit as an entry.
4. All entries from a publication must be mailed and no emailed entries will be accepted.
5. There will be only three divisions rather than four divisions as in previous  years.
6. All entries are $20 each but there is no registration fee charged.

Also, please mark your calendar as the 2024 NAMPA Awards ceremony presentation will be held on Wednesday, September 11th from 1:15 pm EDT to 2:00 pm EDT during the NAMPA annual meeting via ZOOM on September 11th starting at 11 am EDT with Great Idea Exchange and the NAMPA annual membership meeting. The virtual convention program agenda can be found here. The convention is for all member publication's staff to attend, recordings will be available shortly thereafter.
